Our Story

The Builder Supplier Trade Alliance (BSTA) was officially formed in April 2015, sparked by the momentum and collaboration seen during the True North Lead Building Blitz of late 2014. What began as a response to inefficiencies and waste in the building process quickly evolved into a committed alliance focused on communication, cooperation, and continuous improvement across every trade and supplier involved in home building.

From the very beginning, our mission was clear; eliminate waste in all aspects of construction and increase efficiency through shared knowledge and unified effort. By June 2015, we had voted in our first President and Vice President to guide the newly formed council, creating a structure that empowered our growing membership. in 2024, with the expansion of our goals and responsibilities, a second Vice President was added to better support the alliance. What started as a small group of 6 to 10 members has now grown to a strong network of over 40 dedicated trades, suppliers, and industry professionals. Despite this growth, we’ve remained true to our founding principle – maintaining a strong open line of communication between all parties involved. That commitment to transparency and teamwork continues to drive us forward.

Our first major milestone came in2 017 with the original HOPE Project, an initiative that united our members in purpose and community service. Since then, we’ve proudly participated in three Blitz Build projects, showcasing the power of collective effort and shared values.

Now as we approach a decade since our founding, we look back with pride on how far we’ve come – and forward with determination toward what we can still achieve. The BSTA isn’t just an alliance; it’s a movement – building smarter, working together, and making meaningful progress in our industry and community.
