Energy Saving Tips
The cooler weather is coming! Here are a few energy saving tips for this fall.
1. Check your furnace’s air filter once a month. A dirty filter slows air flow, making the system work harder which wastes energy. If it’s dirty, clean or replace it.
2. Take advantage of the sun! Use curtains to your advantage. During the day, opening the curtains to let in sunlight from south-facing windows will help warm the room without using any extra energy.
3. Remember to reprogram your thermostat. Try lowering your thermostat to a temperature you are comfortable with. When you lower your thermostat one degree your heating cost can be reduced by 3 percent!
