DOUG TARRY CUSTOM HOMES SPONSORS NEW FIT-TRAIL
NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Strathroy – June 27, 2016) Residents of Strathroy-Caradoc will have the opportunity to make use of a new 10 station fit-trail as part of their exercise routine, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Doug Tarry Custom Homes Ltd.
Situated along the Rotary Memorial Trail that stretches through Alexandra Park and the Cuddy Soccer Field complex in Strathroy, the new fitness trail is an outdoor exercise system that features instructional signage and exercise equipment designed to provide a balanced program of total fitness conditioning for all ages and sizes. The exercise stations are placed along approximately 100m section of the trail, and users can progress through each station at their own pace. The exercise apparatus are designed to incorporate flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength and muscle endurance.
The idea of integrating a Fit-Trail in the park was brought forward to the municipality by the team at Doug Tarry Custom Homes last fall, following their purchase of the Amber Meadows Development on Second Street. The company was eager to contribute to the community by enhancing the availability of free, unstructured exercise opportunities for the community. “It is always a pleasure to work with developers who are not only willing to invest in our community, but who also participate in improving the overall quality of life.” Says Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden. “The new Doug Tarry Custom Homes Fit Trail improves our park system by providing more recreational activities for our residents”.
In 2015, the 13 –acre Amber Meadows subdivision site was sold to Doug Tarry Custom Homes Ltd., with approval for the creation of 50 single detached residential lots. Initial site work on the development is set to begin this week.
Doug Tarry Custom Homes is already actively involved in residential development in Strathroy-Caradoc, with building lots available in the Saxonville Estates subdivision (located on the south side of Metcalfe Street, Strathroy).
The decision to purchase the former Amber Meadows development was motivated by the prospect of growth in the community. "We see Strathroy as a vibrant community and bringing the Amber Meadows Community to our customers creates an opportunity for us to grow with the Municipality", says Doug Tarry, Part-Owner and Director of Marketing. "Strathroy-Caradoc offers the quality of life that our clients desire, and we are happy to contribute to that atmosphere with the new 10 station fit-trail. Strathroy-Caradoc offers amenities to suit any lifestyle – whether you are planning for retirement or raising a busy family – making it the perfect location for our next development community".
Over the past several years, Doug Tarry Homes has been creating award-winning developments in St. Thomas, Ingersoll, and Aylmer. The company is the recipient of 15 National Awards from the Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA), and has been nominated for 25 awards from the CHBA since it was established.
